There is no alternative way to get to Yim Tin Tsai other than taking a boat or sampan at Sai Kung Pier. There are several boat companies set their business at the pier though.

 

However, to support the conservation in Yim Tin Tsai, one may choose the travel tour provided by the Yim Tin Tsai conservation centre:) With their 'sticker mark', you will be permitted to visits the main spots, including the heritage centre and salt field.
